Oliver Inc. is looking for a Preflight/Proofreader. This is an exciting job opportunity to learn about the Printing industry and folding/cartons. You are going to learn how we create a box starting from a customer's file! The Preflight/Proofreader is responsible for making certain and proof that everything contained in the customer's file is usable before the file is processed into the next steps. The Preflight/Proofreader is also responsible for maintaining the files in the Archives Library, retrieving Film Folders used in previous jobs, and inspecting new proofs for accuracy of fit.

About the Role:
In this opportunity as a Preflight/Proofreader, you will:
- Identify and download all appropriate and required files from customers.
- Preflight incoming customer files. Identify missing or inappropriate elements. Alert manager/supervisor of any deficiencies noted.
- Prepare and organize files for further EPP (Electronic Pre-Press) productive operations.
- Prepare PDF proof files for transmission and transmit for customer approval.
- Proofread digital proofs against customer requirements. Identify production errors and notify EPP manager/supervisor of errors for resolution.
- Tracks and maintains records of all film shipped out to customers, or other printing companies.
- Processes and enters all information into Archive Library info center.
- Maintains close contact with Customer Sales Support, providing spec information as requested.
About You:
You're a fit for the role of Preflight/Proofreader if your background includes:
- High school diploma.
- No previous experience required.
- Familiarity with Mac, bar code reader, and loop.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as business correspondence, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and/or procedure manuals and to write simple letters and memos.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from customers and to speak to customers and/or employees in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changes in uncommon situations and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The wage range for this role reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $16.00 - $18.50 USD.
The actual offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate's qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
