Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PreOp PACU RN to join our team on a full-time basis. The PreOp PACU RN plays a critical role in preparing patients for surgery and providing post-anesthesia care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their surgical journey.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments, ensuring patients are prepared for surgery both physically and emotionally.
- Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Monitor patients closely in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), assessing their recovery and vital signs.
- Provide comprehensive patient education regarding postoperative care and expectations.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition between preoperative and postoperative phases.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with the development and implementation of nursing care plans.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.

- Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PreOp or PACU setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to providing safe and compassionate patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
