About the Job
Position: Pre-Engineered Steel Building Engineer
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer to design pre-engineered steel buildings (metal building systems) using Metal Building Software (MBS). This role requires licensure as a professional engineer (PE) in at least one state, with a willingness to pursue additional licenses nationwide.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation to project stakeholders and management on engineering aspects for constructing pre-engineered metal buildings in the industrial sector.
- Utilize design software to create precise and clear designs, as well as develop related systems for customized steel buildings.
- Collaborate closely with Estimating, Drafting, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project progression.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
- Any other duties that may be assigned
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in MBS software, with a comprehensive understanding of design codes, principles, and practices.
- Sound knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and tools relevant to building erection and repair.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of tackling complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Blend of creativity and analytical prowess.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with building codes such as ASCE, AISC, AISI, ACI, and MBMA.
- Expertise in steel design encompassing built-up rigid frames, cold-formed secondary elements, and structural steel.
- PE licensure in at least one state is mandatory, with a readiness to pursue additional licenses nationwide.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in metal building design is required; however, we prefer candidates with 10 years of relevant experience.
