Position Summary
The Preconstruction Manager plays a crucial role within both the project proposal and execution teams. This role is responsible for developing the project execution plan during the bidding phase and ensuring a seamless transition into project execution.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Award:
Develop overall execution plans for new projects.
Participate in pre-bid site visits.
Collaborate with engineers to create conceptual designs to support proposals.
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
Solicit and review subcontractor bids, ensuring estimates with internal teams.
Work closely with estimators, proposal managers, schedulers, and senior leadership to develop competitive proposals.
Post-Award:
Assist with contract negotiations, focusing on scope and technical requirements.
Review design drawings and provide feedback to optimize the design.
Lead the subcontracting process, issuing RFPs, and negotiating agreements.
Ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to the project management team.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of experience in project management, procurement, EPC, or development.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and leadership skills.
Experience with subcontracting processes and contract negotiations.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes such as scheduling, procurement, and Client planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in estimating and project budgeting.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain positive business relationships.
Experience managing EPC projects and working with subcontractors.
Familiarity with critical path scheduling.
