Practice Nurse (LPN/CMA) - Howerton Family Medicine - Sampson Regional Medical Center

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Practice Nurse LPN or CMA to join the Practice Management team at Howerton Family Medicine! Description:The selected candidate will assist in the management of patient care provided in the practice and coordinate patient flow to ensures care is delivered safely, effectively and efficiently. Additional responsibilities include interviewing patients and taking medical history, giving injections, completing lab and x-ray requests, keeping charts current and screens calls within the practice/provider's guidelines. Will also administer prescribed medications and perform simple treatment as directed by the provider. The Practice Nurse duties are performed within the framework of Sampson Regional Medical Center policies and procedures and current professional standards. Transitions between practices and performs other duties, as needed. Requirements:Currently licensed by the Board of Nursing to practice nursing as an LPN in the state of North Carolina or registered as a Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical AssistantsPrevious physician office or healthcare setting desiredMust demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record documentation in accordance with Meaningful Use objectivesCompetent in EKG testing, blood draws and injectionsCurrent BLS certification required, ACLS preferred Hours:This is a full-time position.
