Practical Nurse Clinical Instructor - First Step to Excellence Health Care Training Academy

Interprets the mission and vision of the school in relation to planning and delivery of nursing. Lead discussions an elicit information from students which demonstrate students are learning an accomplishing the clinical objectives. Supervise and monitor clinical activities. Teach students how to perform duties in the clinical site, answering questions, maintaining clinical standards and course expectations through each course or term. Collaborate with nursing faculty members to prepare for clinical lab and simulation instruction. Reinforce Theory concepts to clinical students. Develops and maintains a clinical learning environment conducive to effective learning with provided resources. Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to enhance their clinical skills. Integrate evidence-based practice with the delivery of patient care and established priorities to facilitate student learning. Provides the students and the agency with document determined by the course coordinator to be necessary, such as student schedules and students' assignments. Serves as a role model. Maintains current clinical competency and knowledge. Attends mandatory orientation at designated locations. Completes all training as directed by the Director of Clinical placements. Works with course coordinator to evaluate the agency and unit for continued use as a clinical site. Abides by agency requirement, ID badges computerized charting and parking. Orients students to clinical setting. Schedules an end of rotation evaluation conference with Clinical coordinator and agency nursing manager at the conclusion of the rotation to review staff, student and or agency issues. Skills require: critical thinking skills, patience, interpersonal skills, communication, organizational skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills, clinical, expertise, ability to be a team player.

Clinical days are Thursday 7:00 am - 3:45 pm. Starting February 13, 2025.

Requirements

Registered Professional Nurse - BSN required, MSN preferred. Minimum 10 years professional experience. Good communication and leadership skills.
