Powertrain Calibration Engineer at TRS Staffing

Location: Hagerstown, MD

Pay: $100k - $115k

Type: Direct hire

Responsibilities

• Engineering to include support of Production, Remanufacturing, and Aftermarket Base Engine system components include Cylinder block, Cylinder head, Intake and Exhaust manifolds, Camshaft, Valvetrain, Geartrain, Crankshaft, Connecting rods, Pistons, Oil systems, Cooling systems, Flywheel housings, Flywheels, PTO, FEAD and belt drives, Gaskets, Seals and Fasteners.
• Provide technical direction to bargaining unit designers, mechanics and technicians,  develop schedules and establish priorities. 
• Design and develop oil system components such as, pumps, filters, castings, fluid coolers and electronic control valves.
• Calibration of the engine software that controls the oil system component.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical development.
• Heavy or medium duty diesel engine development a plus.
• Deep understanding of the physical behavior of the engine mechanical and fluid systems and their connection to the surrounding areas.
• Ability to recognize software calibration interactions with a specific system’s hardware components and its effect on them.
