Job Description:
Join our dynamic operations engineering team responsible for managing the collection, high-voltage (HV) substation, and transmission systems of renewable energy sites, including wind, solar, and battery storage (BESS). The Power System Engineer will play a crucial role in conducting various electrical studies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our power systems.
Responsibilities :
- Provide engineering support to improve the safety and reliability of electrical equipment.
- Regularly analyze, summarize, and communicate findings to the client's management team.
- Review contractor's design submittals and provide the review comments.
- Conduct different power system studies including but not limited to arc flash analysis, reactive power studies, short circuit analysis, harmonic analysis.
- Create and review NERC compliance study reports including but not limited to PRC-019, PRC-024, MOD-026/027.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports on study findings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of power system configurations.
- 4-Year Bachelors Engineering Degree
- Master or PhD Engineering degrees is a plus
- Familiarity with renewable sites power system studies
- Proficient in using power system simulation tools including ETAP, SKM, PowerFactory, and other similar software. Familiarity with dynamic simulation tools including PSCAD, PSS/E, and PSLF is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in conducting and hands-on experience with power system analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, protection system, and other common specifications.
- PE Registration is preferred or ability to obtain within 3 years of employment.
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly communicate ideas to non-engineers
- Ability to remain focused and reliable in completing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and manage technical projects, including interaction with outside vendors
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a complex and dynamic
