Senior Electrical Project Manager
Cannon Companies is accepting applications for an experienced Power line Project Manager. We are looking for a qualified applicant with experience in the areas of high voltage transmission line, substation construction and distribution work. Experience including Estimating and Project Management.
Experience in the fields of commercial, industrial electrical work and/or telecommunications.
Familiarity with Federal Government Contracting a plus.
Requirements:
- Utility Power experience with estimating, project management and ability to serve clients.
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, and analyzing variances.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multi-task numerous projects and assignments
- Provide supervisory and educational support to electricians and trainees.
Job Summary
This is a full-time salary/exempt position and requires periodic travel to job sites.
The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of projects including, but not limited to, management and administration of the prime contract, overseeing the management and administration of subcontractors, procurement, scheduling, and project controls. The PM works in conjunction with the Director on all facets of project planning, execution, controls, and closeout to maintain or improve the balance between scope, budget, time, and quality.
- Responsibilities and Duties
- Administration and management of the prime contract, construction subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Ensures compliance with customer goals and expectations associated with safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
- Plans, executes, and provides reporting on overall project performance.
- Works directly with the customer to ensure communication, customer satisfaction, and effective coordination between the project and other activities occurring at the jobsite.
- Coordinate weekly/monthly project meetings.
- Mitigates and effectively resolves potential change management/disputes.
- Develops and provides oversight to ensure compliance with project-specific health and safety plans and project-specific quality control and quality assurance plans.
- Develops and/or oversees subcontractor scope, price, and schedule exhibits.
- Reviews and approves subcontract and purchase order invoices.
- Oversight of subcontractors and purchase order submittals.
- Administers and manages changes to the prime contract.
- Coordinates, prepares, and presents progress, cost reports, budget forecasting, and schedule management reports monthly.
- Project close-out and warranty administration.
- Trains and mentor's junior staff.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years' experience on projects in the utility power, commercial & industrial power space. Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation work.
- Must be well versed in various aspects of engineering, design, and construction, and contracting methodologies, as well as project planning and management-related tasks and activities including, but not limited to, engineering, estimating, scheduling, bidding, project management and administration and management of prime contracts, preparation and administration of purchase orders and subcontracts, field supervision, budget control, safety, quality assurance, etc.
