3rd shift Powerhouse Supervisor
Indianapolis, IN
6 days a week - OT required
Shift hours are 10:30pm to 6:30am

As the 3rd shift Powerhouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily 3rd shift supervision of assigned UAW skilled tradesmen for the operation and maintenance of Powerhouse assets. These assets provide electrical power, natural gas, steam, compressed air, cooling water, process water and wastewater distribution to the IOC campus.
Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities
The Powerhouse Supervisor should have the following key responsibilities:
• Daily Supervision of hourly on site/UAW Powerhouse Stationary Engineers.
• Review and approve daily hourly time and correct as necessary
• Enforce hourly shop rules and take disciplinary action as required
• Schedule daily work activities for powerhouse personnel on assigned shift.
• Coordinate gas-fired boiler operational activities.
• Understanding of high voltage (4,160-13.8Kv) electrical switching.
• Experience with plant chillers, pumps and cooling towers.
• Utilize CMMS (Maximo) preventative maintenance software to schedule repairs to equipment.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections and daily safety talks.
• Communicate process performance metrics and be comfortable with MS Office software.
• Maintain operational and daily utility logs.
• Implement company procedures.
• Ensure that corporate Health, Safety and Environmental policies are followed.
• Professional interaction with coworkers, suppliers and vendors.
• Set work priorities that drive team results.
• Problem solving ability and a commitment to the continuous improvement process
Basic Requirements:
• Associate degree in management or engineering with 4+ years of experience as an operations shift supervisor, OR
• Bachelor’s degree in management or engineering with 2 years of experience as an operations shift supervisor, OR
• 6+ years of experience as an operations shift supervisor in lieu of a degree
• In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
Preferred Requirements:
• Knowledge of steam boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, pumps and switch gear etc.
• High voltage (4,160-13.8Kv) electrical switching
• MS Office software
• Problem solving ability utilizing continuous improvement techniques
