Responsibilities and Expectations:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Power Generation Service Engineer to join our IPS Miami team. As a Power Generation Project Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on power generation systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will work closely with our clients to address their service needs and provide technical support to resolve any issues efficiently.
AdesiredfamiliaritywithABB,Alstom,Brush,GE,Siemens, andWestinghouse,andotherOEMmotorsandgenerators.Experiencewithgeneratorhigh voltagetestingsuch as windingresistance,insulationresistance,polarizationindex, DCleakage and high potentialtesting, wedge tightness,EL CID testing, end windingfrequencyresponse test, and rotor testing.
• Consider safety as the #1 priority and be an evangelist for safety practices.
• ComplywithOSHA,MSHA,sitespecific,andotherindustrialhealthandsafetypractices when at the customer job site and inside the IPS Miami shop
• Performjobsafetyanalysisandriskassessmentsand keep on-sitesafetydocumentation
• Performelectricaltestingandvisualinspectionofgeneratorsandmotors.
• Determineconditionof thegeneratorandproviderepairrecommendations to thecustomer
• Assistingeneratorcleaningandmaintenanceaswellaswindingandmechanicalrepairs
• Determinethe projecttimeline, materials, tooling,andmanpower necessary tocomplete the project
• Maintaindailyreportsandsubmitstatusreportsto IPSMiamiandcustomers
• Composedetailedandconcisetechnicalreportsforworkperformedwhileon-site
• Supportpowergenerationfieldserviceteamsasneededinprojectmanagement,logistics, coordination, and customer support ofupcoming jobs
• Assistindeterminingrecommendedworkscopesandpricingofupcomingjobsandbids
• Supportpowergenerationandlocalindustryjobsthatenterthe IPS Miamishop
• Overseeprojectteamwhileonfieldserviceprojects
• Ability toreadandinterpret documents suchassafety rules,procedures, andmanuals. Ability towritereportsandupdates. Ability toeffectively speak beforecustomers and employeesoftheorganization.Abilitytoread,writeandunderstandEnglish.Proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Qualifications and Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with5+yearsoffieldserviceexperienceora HighSchool Diploma/GEDwith 5-7years ofhands-onfield serviceexperience in generator winding maintenance.
• Switchgear, Power Generation, Utility infrastructure projects, Data Centers and Enclosures,and Controls& Automationfamiliarityor experiencepreferred.
• Abilityandwillingnesstotraveldomesticallyandinternationally.
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPointand proficiencyin testing software such as WTD 501, ELAN, and SDC003a plus. Proficiencyin computer-aided drawingprogramssuch as AutoCADandSolidWorks is aplus.
• Applicantmust haveavaliddriver'slicense,mustbeabletoworkwithintheUnitedStates ofAmerica andmusthave avalid passport, and bewilling and abletotravel abroad.
