A day in the life as a Postgres DBA at TeamSupport.

• Design, Implement, and Maintain Database Systems: Leverage your expertise to design, implement, and maintain robust database systems in AWS using Aurora Postgres.

• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor database performance and security and implement optimizations to ensure peak efficiency.

• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Dive into database issues and outages, employing your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.

• Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.

• User Management: Manage database users and permissions, ensuring secure and efficient access for our team.

• Collaboration with Developers: Work closely with our development team to design and implement necessary database schema changes that align with business requirements.

• Replication and High Availability: Implement and maintain database replication and high availability to ensure uninterrupted service.

• Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in database management to contribute to our continuous improvement efforts.

What do you bring to TeamSupport?

• 10+ Years of DBA Experience: Proven track record with at least 10 years of experience as a DBA, including a minimum of 7 years specializing in Postgres.

• AWS Experience: Significant experience with AWS RDS, including Aurora & Postgres

• Database Expertise: Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and security practices.

• Replication and High Availability: Hands-on experience with database replication and high availability configurations.

• Scripting and SQL: Expert level SQL knowledge and solid proficiency in scripting languages, including Python and Bash

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective interaction with team members.

• Independence and Prioritization: Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
