Colgate-Palmoliveinvites applications to a Postdoctoral Research Scientist (PDRS) positionlocated in Piscataway, NJ. This is a two (2) year fixed term of at-will employment.

• Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for a Post Doctoral Research Scientist (PDRS) position based at our Piscataway, NJ location. This is a two year fixed term of at-will employment.
• The PDRS will participate in Cross-category Research and Innovation and document research results with technical reports, patent applications, and present technical findings to R&D community and management.

What you will do:

• Manage Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and Light Microscopy Laboratory that houses various advanced light microscopes, including Raman microscopes, Fluorescence and high resolution-dark field microscopes.
• Develop and implement new microscopy methods, develop and manage fundamental microscopy research programs (both internal and external) that are relevant to Colgate R&D initiatives
• Train and coach internal users (R&D scientists and process engineers) on operation of light microscopes and data interpretation
• Investigate product efficacy, active delivery and mode of action by studying their effects on surfaces
• Evaluate product morphology and stability to support formulation development and optimization of manufacturing process
• Document research results by technical reports, prepare and validate Standard Operating Procedures, and present technical findings to R&D community and managements

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D in microscopy/spectroscopy or related material science (chemistry, biochemistry, physical or biological sciences) with 0-2 years of postdoctoral experience Required.
• Expertise in atomic force microscopy (AFM) is preferred
• Solid academic training with creative and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience involving consumer products is not required, but beneficial
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation and Benefits
Salary $88,000USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

• Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
• Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
