Position Overview

Salary Range: The salary for this role is between $64,480 and $77,327, based on experience as outlined in the UC salary scales. For more details, refer to the Postdoc Scholar Salary Scale.

Position Description

We invite applications for Postdoctoral Scholars from candidates with a PhD, MD, or equivalent, possessing strong laboratory research experience. Anticipated openings are available from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UC Irvine.

Initial appointments are for two years, with renewals contingent on available funding. Current faculty research interests include:

• J. Chan: Liver development/function, oxidative stress response, and cancer
• L. de la Maza: Chlamydia trachomatis; immunopathology and vaccine development
• R. Edwards: G-protein signaling in mucosal immunity
• D. Mercola: Cancer promoter binding and activation profiles
• E. Monuki: Brain development
• E. Head: Brain aging and Alzheimer's disease
• A. La Spada: Neurodegenerative disease mechanisms
• J. Lipkova: AI in medicine
• M. Rose: Neuronal diversity and imaging in brain development
• H. Park: Breast cancer and epigenetics
• F. Rahmatpanah: Cancer disparities and epigenetics
• H. Mkhikian: Glycoimmunology and mass spectrometry
• P. Shah: Computational medicine
• A. Qavi: New optical technologies in diagnostics
