REPORTS TO: PDSS Manager
SUPERVISES:MayberequiredtoassumeadditionaldutieswhenLeadisunavailable or as assigned
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manageandassumeresponsibilityforassigned4EpackagesandDD250items from planning to execution while providing appropriate work status updates
- Ensuretheworkinprogressisinaccordancewiththepublishedschedule sequenceandthatproductionschedulesarereasonableandachievable.
- Providescoordination,guidance,anddirectiontothefunctionalprojectleadsto ensurethattheworkperformedenablessuccessfulandefficientconstructionof the vessel with focus on milestone achievements and cost and schedule performance
- Coordinate, mediate, and resolve craft specific production work sequence conflictsrelatedtoconstraintsthateffectperformancetocostandschedule
- This position may be required to manage repair efforts in various offsite locations.Thepotentialforoffsitetravelcanpotentiallybeinexcessof40-50%.
- Maintain a daily presence regarding the work in progress to monitor safety, housekeeping,workprogress,staffperformanceandcontinuousmanagementof Austal labor and/or subcontractors executing work
- Conductcraftmeetingsandparticipateinmeetingsasdeemedappropriateby Project Lead
- CoordinatewithschedulertolayoutplannedworkintheIntegratedMaster Schedule (IMS) all check point and test requirements
- Performvalidationofstatusreportingagainsttheactualworkbeingperformedto ensure accuracy of reporting functions
- Ensurecompliancewithqualityproceduresanddocumentswhilemaintaining OQE in support task completion documentation
- Monitorandensurecompliancewiththecontractrequirements
- Monitorandensurerequiredcompliancewithregulatorybodyandclassification society guides, rules, and regulations
- MaintaindailycommunicationandinteractionwiththeProjectLeadtoreport status and concerns and have the ability to initiate and follow through with required variance analyses and associated corrective action plans
- Monitorandvalidateresourcerequirementsforactualsagainstplannedworkin progressandprojectlaborrequirementstocompleteddefinedtaskeffortswhile managing to the task agreed EAC
- Monitorandvalidateuseofreworkandlessonslearnedprocessesandinitiatives to promote continuous improvement.
- PreparesSOWwhichdepictanaccuratedetailedworkscopenecessaryfortask bid request and task execution requirements including all exit criteria to successfully close out the task
- Proactivedeckplatemanagementtoidentifyandresolveresource,materialand information issues in AOR to allow work to progress to plan
- Performsotherdutiesasassignedbymanagement.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Five(5)+years’experienceinashipbuilding,shiprepairorsimilarconstruction and manufacturing industrial type environment.
- Abilitytoreadandinterpretshipbuildingcontractsandspecifications.
- Abilitytoreadandinterpretregulatorybodyandclassificationsocietyguides, rules, and regulations.
- Abilitytoreadandinterpretengineeringdrawingsanddatawhilenavigating effectively with applicable software.
- Abilitytoutilizeandinterpretrelevantcostandscheduledatareportsincluding having a familiarity of scheduling software (Microsoft Project, etc.)
- ProficientinMicrosoftOffice(Word,Outlook,Excel,andPowerPoint)
- Abilitytoefficientlyvalidate,interpretandunderstandtaskschedulingorwork sequencing.
- Abilitytouseandinterpretrelevantcostandscheduledataanduseapplicable software associated with these reporting functions.
- Abilitytounderstandschedule-reportingtoolsandbeproficientinmaintaining and validating schedule related data.
- Abilitytoworkindependentlywithlittlesupervisionandtakeinitiativeinall aspects of the position duties.
- Willingnesstoworkirregularandextendedworkhoursasneeded.
- Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of thosethatmustbemetbyanemployeetosuccessfullyperformtheessentialfunctions of the position. Must be able to tour all vessels and work sites.
This position will involve substantial time (as much as 100%) onboard the vessel at variousdegreesofconstruction,goingupanddownstaircasesandverticalladdersat heights reaching in excess of 75 feet in temperatures which, at times, can reach extreme levels.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is often required to stand, walk,utilizehandstomanipulate,handle,orfeel,reachwithhandsandarms,climband balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to work at a computer station.

COMPENSATION:Salary range depends on relevant experience.
