POSITION: Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Specialist
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time .5 FTE, Exempt - 187 Day Contract
SALARY: Title IV Grant - Approved Certified Compensation Plan (Education and
Experience)
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Academic Services
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
PBIS Tiers 1 - 3 Trainer of Trainer trained through KOI education
- Assists to provide ongoing PBIS training
- Assists to provide PBIS training to all new MUSD staff each year
- Assists to provide PBIS coaching support
- Assists to provide SWIS/Synergy behavioral data and reports to district PBIS team
- Assists to provide additional data support
- Completes all assessments needed
- Monitors all PBIS folders
- Completes school site visits to ensure PBIS is being implemented with fidelity
- Schedules and monitors completion of all PBIS surveys and sends out links to school sites
- Attends school site PBIS Tier 1, 2, and 3 meetings to provide coaching support, monitor
- progress, and report back to district PBIS team
- Acts as the liaison between PBIS and MTSS.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of best practice teaching strategies
- Knowledge of best practices in classroom management
- Knowledge of data assessment and disaggregation
- Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques.
- Knowledge of district rules of conduct and ethics
- Knowledge of relevant Governing Board Policies
- Skill in monitoring and correcting student behavior.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
- Professional communication skills effectively (verbal and written); ability to instruct; andmaintain emotional control under stress.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to perform the following physical requirements of the
position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include
general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and
give directions clearly. Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up
to 50 pounds), carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 125 lbs.
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
A valid Arizona Department of Education Certification/Endorsement consistent with assignment
and a valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
