Overview
Section Partners is hiring a Portfolio Operations Analyst. The Analyst will be an integral member of our team and will support all aspects of the Firm’s business including investments, operations, finance, and administration. We are seeking self-starters with an eagerness to learn. Strong organizational skills, relatable prior work experience and the ability to think critically are paramount. The role will provide an opportunity for learning and hands-on mentoring in a small team environment. The Portfolio Operations Analyst will work full time on site at our Palo Alto, California office. Compensation will consist of a base salary and a performance-based bonus.
Responsibilities
The Portfolio Operations Analyst will be primarily involved in operational aspects related to the full cycle of the investment process at Section Partners. This entails identifying, logging and monitoring leads, managing the deal and investor database, supporting the quarterly valuation process, updating models, aggregating and analyzing company metrics, updating counterparty statements, responding to investor requests, and standardizing materials. The role may include additional projects of an administrative nature in research, marketing, events, investor relations, and fundraising.
Qualifications
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Proficient in excel
- Familiarity with basic accounting / finance
- Willingness to go above and beyond to generate efficiency for the team
- Ability to manage multiple projects across different disciplines
- Experience with various business applications including Microsoft Office, Google workspace, Notion
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Interest in technology and the venture capital ecosystem
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with some coursework in finance, with a graduation date between 2023-2025
- Authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
