Porter candidate will create a positive experience by providing outstanding customer service to building residents, guests, and prospects. Candidate will ensure that the lobby, entryways, common areas, hallways are clean, and well organized at all times. Responsibilities will also include maintenance support in the apartment community and being accountable for helping the company deliver on our resident commitments of exceptional move-in, residential satisfaction, express service, and personal attention. Candidate will also serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team and assist with fire, non-fire, medical and/or other building related emergencies.
The Durst Organization is seeking a Porter at SVEN located in Long Island City, Queens. The position will have the following schedule:
Sunday-Thursday from 3:00pm-11:30pm
Days Off Friday and Saturday
Salary Range: $21.58 - $28.77 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the Durst Residential Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain building grounds, amenity and common areas to highest standard of cleanliness, ensure trash rooms are clean and bins appropriately emptied.
- Performs daily property maintenance and cleaning projects throughout the building as assigned.
- Keep accurate and organized supplies and supply lists and recommend supply replenishment to supervisor when necessary.
- Maintain excellent customer service relationship by adhering to TDO customer service standards.
- Monitor contractors and vendors on site; keeping the building clean and organized is paramount.
- Perform vacant unit upkeep, apt turnovers and make-readies upon vacancy and leasing.
- Inspect the facility to ensure its adherence to safety, sanitary and security standards.
- Emergency Response Team (Fire Brigade) – will assist and respond as needed during fire, non-fire, medical and/or other building related emergency events. Under the direction of the Incident Commander.
- Locate, communicate and control small fires
- Knock on all tenant doors to inform residents of the emergency event and initiate relocation/evacuation as instructed by the Incident Commander.
- Visually account for residents in amenity or public spaces and inform of an emergency event
- Coordinate assistance of special needs residents to ensure accountability and safe relocation during emergencies
- Other tasks as assigned by the Property Manager / General Manager.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
- OSHA 10 hour certificate of completion and Local 32BJ Training School courses (where course applies to residential operations and emergency response).
- Three plus years porter/handyperson experience. Hospitably or Residential industries preferred
- Certificate of Fitness S-12 Citywide Sprinkler System, S-13 Citywide Standpipe System (preferred).
- Position requires the ability to work any of the seven days of the week, 52 weeks of the year. Due to community staffing limitations, it is extremely critical that individuals be able to work their scheduled hours on a consistent basis and, if necessary, overtime hours when requested.
