Salary Range: $15 per hour (DOE and state) + Mandatory Service Charge
A 20% Mandatory Service Charge is added to every check. Our belief is that every hourly Gjelina employee contributes to the service and 100% of the MSC will be distributed amongst them.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for confirming receipt of items delivered to the location. Responsible for assisting other kitchen staff like Cooks, Chefs, Supervisors or Managers. Their primary duties include cleaning the kitchen, shopping for supplies, equipment and organizing food and other items in the stockroom. Receivers carefully evaluate order invoices, ensuring the correct quantity of the items, and inspect the merchandise for any possible mislabeling and defects. Responsible for receiving products, verifying amounts and brands, signing, and organizing daily invoices, and informing chefs when products are missing, damaged, or meet our standards. Being present and available to jump on dishwashing whenever necessary and needed. Responsible for organization and cleanliness of walk-in(s), dry storage areas, walk-ways and ramps, and other areas where product is present.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
- Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene that include clean clothes, nails, and hair. No heavy perfumes/colognes.
- Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Stock paper towels and soap dispensers at all handwashing sinks.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of dry stock/walk-in(s). Help with consolidation of products.
- Works with shipping and receiving in stocking / organizing and labeling all deliveries.
- Communicate procedures to delivery drivers clearly and effectively
- Cleans, sanitizes, and organizes the storage areas
- Cleaning and sterilizing countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
- Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
- Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
- Receiving deliveries and organizing them in the kitchen
- Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
- Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
- Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
- Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
- Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed
- Assist management with ensuring daily, weekly, monthly logs are maintained
- Cross train in all other positions and provide support to those work stations as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
- Keep firewood stocked for hotline

- 2+ years of restaurant or food production / retail operations experience.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekend shifts, and holidays.
- Must know basic math

While performing the duties of this job, the position is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time (8 to 10 hours per day).
