Job Description
Advanced Energy United seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Policy and Advocacy Intern to join our New England team for the Summer 2024 program. This role will help support United's mission and work to shape a clean energy future in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Student must be in their junior year or above.
Responsibilities
Research advanced energy policy materials and monitor progress of initiatives
Support member and stakeholder engagement through communications and events
Draft and edit informative materials such as letters, articles, and presentations
Other potential activities related to advocacy strategy and issue education
A final project will be due from each intern and presented to the organization.
Qualifications
Interest in policy and promoting clean energy resources; eagerness to learn about New England energy issues
Prior internship or work experience is valued, any clean energy experience is an advantage; previous volunteer roles and/or relevant coursework accepted
Effective writing and verbal skills; clear communicator and team collaborator
Required Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Skills:Detail-oriented; intellectually curious; interest in advanced energy and/or public policy career

Dates: Preference for June 10 to August 16 (summer program dates)
Location: Option for hybrid work from our Washington DC office with 2024 intern cohort. Otherwise, remote based in Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island.
Hours: 25 to 40 hours per week
Compensation: $18.00/hr
