POSITION SUMMARY
The Selling Plumbing Technician role at Malek Service Company is a sales-focused position that requires prior plumbing experience and technical expertise. As a Selling Plumbing Technician, you will be responsible for generating sales leads, promoting our company's plumbing products and services, and delivering top-notch service. OBJECTIVES
- Generate sales leads and promote the company's plumbing products and services to customers, emphasizing their benefits and value.
- Offer multi-option solutions and improvements to address customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities during service visits and effectively communicate those options to customers.
- Perform plumbing repair and maintenance work, including diagnosing issues, fixing leaks, and replacing components to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
- Explain plumbing system issues, proposed solutions, and associated costs to customers, ensuring transparency and addressing concerns.
- Provide accurate and detailed estimates and quotes for plumbing repair or replacement services, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability.
- Follow up with customers to answer questions, address concerns, and assist with scheduling necessary repairs or installations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's plumbing products, services, and pricing to educate customers and promote value-added solutions.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, new plumbing technologies, and best practices to provide customers with the latest information and recommendations.
- Keep detailed records of service calls, customer interactions, and sales opportunities using appropriate software or CRM systems.
- Consistently strive to meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.
COMPETENCIES
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to customers and promote plumbing products and services.
- Strong sales and customer service orientation, with a track record of successfully identifying and closing sales opportunities.
- Familiarity with Plumbing systems, components, and controls, including knowledge of a variety of brands and models.
- Ability to provide accurate estimates and quotes for repair or replacement services, taking into account labor, materials, and associated costs.
- Proficiency in using sales and CRM software to manage leads, track opportunities, and maintain customer records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and follow-up.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 years of sales experience or relative training, preferred
- 2 years of plumbing experience or more is required
- Must possess valid state driver's license and clean driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing, bending, climbing, sitting, small crawl spaces and heights
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
- Wear safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothing
- Could be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distracting
- Requires the ability to raise, manipulate and maneuver tools, components and materials and handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.
- Work in high or elevated places and/or in tight spaces
- Ability to withstand hot and cold indoor and outdoor temperatures

SCHEDULE
- Be prepared to run service and sales calls Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
- On Call Rotation: This position runs after hours service calls.
