Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, this position is responsible for the more complex and critical Medical Air, Steam, and Plumbing systems of the facility, performing a variety of building and maintenance repair tasks of a skilled and semi-skilled nature in the areas of environmental control, automated and mechanical equipment maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs skilled Plumbing work. Demonstrates skilled use of the computer facility management software system.
- Performs semi-skilled HVAC work
- Ability to perform and complete work at various sites throughout the healthcare network in an efficient manner.
- Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment according to established procedures. Inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs or replaces components of the Plumbing system. Services and repairs the more complex Plumbing equipment.
- Schedules and maintains records of maintenance repairs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- HS Diploma or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable Plumbing experience
- 2+ years of experience in facilities engineering in a hospital environment
- 5+ years of relevant commercial plumbing experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- NYS Backflow Preventer Certification, Medical Gas ASSE 6040 certifications Preferred
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Requirements also include climbing, bending, and the ability to get into tight spaces while working off a ladder.
Location and Travel Requirements:
- Onsite
- Periodic travel to other facilities can be expected in this role
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $29 - $37 per hour
