We are currently seeking a highly skilled Permanent PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving PLC systems in a fast-paced production environment. This role involves working with a variety of automated equipment and requires a strong understanding of industrial control systems. The PLC Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production lines, contributing significantly to our company's success.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and system breakdowns are prevented.
2. Troubleshoot and repair PLC controlled machines and equipment when they malfunction.
3. Develop and implement new control systems from initial design through to final commissioning.
4. Create and modify PLC programs for new and existing equipment.
5. Collaborate with the engineering team to improve existing processes and implement new technologies.
6. Provide technical support and training to other team members as required.
7. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as all relevant safety regulations.
8. Document all repair and maintenance work for future reference.
9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a PLC Technician role, or a similar role involving industrial control systems.
2. Extensive knowledge of PLC systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
3. A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field is preferred.
4. Experience with various PLC brands, such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi is an asset.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to industrial control systems.
11. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
