About the Job
We are seeking a skilled
PLC Programmer
to join our team and play a critical role in our plastics manufacturing automation processes. The ideal candidate will design, program, test, and maintain PLC systems to ensure efficient and reliable manufacturing operations. This role requires close collaboration with engineers and technicians, focusing on automation within the plastics industry.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:
Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram
Experience with PLC platforms commonly used in the plastics industry (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
Strong understanding of industrial automation principles, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for plastics production equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally within the plastics industry
Experience with
Raspberry Pi
for automation or control applications is a plus
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop PLC programs based on project requirements for plastics manufacturing processes
Design and implement control systems for automated machinery in the plastics industry
Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software on production lines
Test and debug PLC programs to ensure functionality within plastics manufacturing environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other control systems and equipment
Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams
Document and maintain detailed records of PLC programs, configurations, and modifications
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in PLC programming and automation for the plastics industry
Measurement of Performance:
Timely completion of assigned Quality Manufacturing IT goals
