TalentLogistix is immediately hiring a skilled PLC Engineer in the Wharton, NJ area. This is a direct hire opportunity with a competitive salary for those with the skills and knowledge to help our clients achieve their goals.
As a PLC Engineer this role involves upgrading PLC systems, removing outdated Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and installing Ethernet connectivity for improved performance across our plant operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, RSLogix programming, and troubleshooting VFDs, PLCs, and Ethernet systems. The candidate will be responsible for programming, system upgrades, and creating/editing PLC code.
Pay rate: $90,000/year - $110,000/year

PLC Engineer Responsibilities:
- PLC and VFD Upgrades: Remove older VFDs and upgrade PLC systems across the plant to ensure enhanced operational efficiency.
- Ethernet Installation: Install Ethernet connectivity out of the box, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
- Programming & Code Development: Edit and create PLC code from out-of-box systems, ensuring it meets plant-specific requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Perform in-depth troubleshooting for PLC systems, VFDs, and Ethernet components to resolve issues promptly.
- System Improvements: Analyze current PLC systems and recommend improvements for performance and efficiency.
- Documentation: Complete specifications and provide detailed documentation for all system upgrades and replacements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with plant engineers and maintenance teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of upgraded PLC and VFD systems.
PLC Engineer Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix programming.
- Strong knowledge of VFD systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Experience with Ethernet communication systems, specifically setting up connectivity for industrial applications.
- Ability to edit and create PLC code from scratch, as well as modify existing code for plant-specific needs.
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and improving PLC and VFD systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure on-time completion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
PLC Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale PLC systems, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
- Familiarity with other PLC brands or control systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
