As a member of the Engineering team, the Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and installing equipment plants globally. Our portfolio includes ASRS systems, automated conveyor, pallet elevators, stackers/destackers, pallet turntables, automatic labelers, shipping trailers, and build line integration.

As a member of the Engineering team, the Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and installing equipment plants globally. Our portfolio includes ASRS systems, automated conveyor, pallet elevators, stackers/destackers, pallet turntables, automatic labelers, shipping trailers, and build line integration.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Following health, safety, environmental regulations, and safety protocols (safety harnesses, fork truck, scissor lift, boom lifts, LOTO)
- Building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among all team members
- Communicating across cross-functional groups
- Being responsible for projects from technical specification to startup support
- Designing and developing all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and programming using Lear standards and build upon with innovative ideas
- Writing, implementing, and debugging PLC software
- Providing support to existing Lear automated equipment globally
- Developing predictive maintenance indicators to increase reliability and reduce downtime – (CBM, Industry 4.0)
- Developing contingency and disaster recovery plans
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering
- Three years' experience in a controls engineering role at an automation/machine build shop.
- Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitude
- Must be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy
- Expert in RSLogix5000, Studio5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio
- Knowledgeable of I/O link, AB components, drive control, Keyence cameras
- Ability to read and create electrical drawings in AutoCAD
- Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Understand and communicate applicable safety standards: general industry, machine guarding, robot safety, automated vehicles, conveyor safety
- Self-driven and willingness to work long hours during installations, if required
- Willingness to travel globally – up to 30-35%
