The Platform Engineering Manager is a senior leadership role that oversees the strategic and operational management of the engineering cloud environment. This role requires leading the VC3 environment to meet and exceed contemporary and future computing paradigms by developing comprehensive operational strategies to enhance system stability, efficiency, and security.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Guiding cross-functional teams through the complexities of infrastructure and platform service management
+ Adopting and integrating cutting-edge cloud-native technologies and methodologies
+ Ensuring the infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and agile
+ Championing innovation and advocating for continuous process optimization
+ Driving tenant satisfaction by delivering superior service to users
+ Ensuring the VC3 environment remains at the forefront of technological advancement
+ Adapting to and capitalizing on new opportunities for growth and improvement in a highly secure and efficient manner
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
+ 12 years experience and a BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, System Engineering, or related field.
+ Experience in crafting forward-looking strategies for scaling, enhancing operational efficiency, and achieving unparalleled availability and positioning the platform to thrive amidst evolving technological landscapes
+ Success in fostering a culture of collaboration and integration among technical teams; promoting continuous improvement and innovation in workflows
+ A background adhering to security standards championing robust security measures to protect the environment against vulnerabilities
+ Experience in cross functional collaboration between with the Hardware Solutions and Software Solutions to modernize infrastructure and adopt cloud-native practices
+ Experience developing and managing a coordinated response to minimize downtime and impact when incidents occur as well as leveraging the expertise of the SRE, DevOps, Security, and Ops teams to ensure rapid resolution
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Active TS/SCI Clearance
+ MS Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
+ Experience in the development and adherence to security protocols and compliance measures across all cloud environments
+ Familiarity with security team collaboration to conduct regular security audits and enhance security frameworks
+ Knowledge of emerging threats and ensuring the organization's security measures evolve accordingly
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
