Plant WD Plant EngineerPosition Overview
The Plant Engineer provides leadership, direction and support for all Engineering, Reliability, and Maintenance activities for Plant WD.
Responsibilities:
The Plant Engineer will provide Leadership for the Plant WD Maintenance Department. The position will oversee all plant equipment and facility maintenance. This includes all aspects of the plant mechanical and electrical production machinery, buildings, and plant utilities.
Develop a Reliability based Maintenance program with the goals of improved equipment reliability and reduced maintenance costs.
Prioritize safety within the maintenance department. Effectively lead all maintenance associates including Salaried and Hourly Maintenance personnel.
Development of both Mechanical and Electrical Reliability Technicians in the Maintenance Department.
Responsible for maintaining equipment in compliance with OSHA and state environmental regulations. This includes working with the EHS Manager and Risk Management to ensure environmental permits and audits are completed as required, and documentation is provided and recorded as required.
Ensure the facility is compliant with regulations and standards and ensure that documentation reflecting compliance is properly maintained.
Partner with each department to identify solutions to Safety, Quality, and Cost Reduction opportunities through innovative solutions.
The Plant Engineer will help develop effective Capital Plans and Budgets for the facility and equipment and will be responsible for developing and overseeing all Capital and Expense projects for the facility.
Act as primary liaison with support groups such as Corporate Engineering and CIM.
Responsible for developing equipment specifications, obtaining bids, hiring contractors, and supervising installations. This position will ensure that available resources are allocated, coordinated, and deployed to accomplish tasks successfully.
Responsible for managing the Plant Supply Room Inventory System, and Supply Room personnel. Develop cost-effective strategies and utilize key performance indicators to maintain an efficient Supply Room Inventory System.
Maintain Utilities within the facility and coordinate with key Utility providers.
Essential Duties:
Effectively manage maintenance personnel
Establish key performance indicators for your team that align Plant WD and Divisional goals
Oversee plant energy intensity and optimize key equipment and systems for energy efficiency
Coordinate project scheduling and execution utilizing effective project management systems.
Assist staff operations with project development and proposal (i.e., collect quotes, determine priorities, assist in determining requirements)
Coordinate with outside contractors/vendors on any needed assistance with repairs, installations, or project work at the facility.
Review and approve maintenance department requisitions
Efficiently expedite and assign work orders
Order supplies and equipment, determine and schedule delivery times
Supervise and implement a preventive/predictive maintenance program
Meet with plant manager to review projects and activities when necessary
Oversee boiler room, maintenance of plant infrastructure and grounds
Follow SMS Management responsibilities as required in the SMS procedures manual
Follow EHS management responsibilities as defined in the EHS procedures
Administer departmental and plant policies and procedures
Promote and instruct safe work habits and good housekeeping practices and ensure compliance within the department and plant
Hold first day back safety meetings, ensure associates work safely, and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required
Serve as a member of the QIT and other teams as required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (five years minimum)
Preferred experience in industrial maintenance and/or engineering
