Position Overview
The Plant Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and safety compliance within a bakery manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the plant to ensure efficiency and quality of production.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, including GMP, FDA, and USDA standards.
- Oversee personnel management, including training, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
- Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Develop and manage plant budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
- Utilize ERP systems for inventory management, scheduling, and production planning.
- Analyze KPIs to drive decision-making and enhance operational performance.
- Coordinate root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in a bakery.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to food production.
- Familiarity with CMMS, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Excellent personnel management skills with experience in training and developing staff.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and manage production effectively.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
