Job Summary
A privately-held, growth-oriented manufacturer specializing in polyethylene pipe and plastics products is seeking a Plant/Production Manager to lead their high-volume, technical manufacturing operations. This position offers an opportunity to drive continuous improvement, mentor a skilled leadership team, and maintain a culture of excellence within a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate a workplace culture that positions the company as an employer of choice.
- Oversee staffing and resource allocation to ensure optimal production and exceed customer expectations.
- Mentor and develop the plant leadership team to drive performance and employee engagement.
- Partner with Human Resources to implement practices that empower employees to achieve operational targets.
- Lead safety and quality managers to establish and enforce procedures that meet or exceed regulatory and internal standards.
- Implement and coach continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
- Develop and manage budgets aligned with sales forecasts; monitor expenses and execution across plant departments.
- Supervise the purchase of new machinery and equipment, including layout planning to optimize material flow.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and proper disposal of waste products.
- Represent the company in community activities, projecting a positive corporate image.
- Stay informed of advancements in manufacturing technologies, processes, and management practices to enhance plant operations.
Work Requirements
- Location Flexibility: This role can be based anywhere within the Northeast U.S. Corridor, as specified by the client.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Manufacturing Technology.
- Experience:
- Proven success in plastics manufacturing (extrusion, injection molding, or related fields).
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience, including people management and development.
- Strong track record of improving operational outcomes in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Skills:
- Quantitative and analytical abilities to develop actionable insights and plans.
- Proficiency in project management, change management, and conflict resolution.
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year.
- Bonus: Performance-based bonus potential.
