We have a Plant Phenotyping Intern position opening for Summer 2024 in River Falls, WI at the WinField United Innovation Center. Relocation assistance provided. You will have the opportunity to work with a collaborate, diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Position Duties:
- Develop new, innovative methods to assess plant health under different stressors
- Work with a high-throughput phenotyping system in a controlled environment in which you will gain knowledge in how agriculture products impact plant growth and development
- Planting and applying fertilizer and crop inputs
- Working with plant pathogens
- Trial execution and making observations on plant growth stages
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in agronomy, plant biology, plant pathology, or other related field of study.
- Sophomore or junior (preferred) standing in college
- Required GPA of 3.0 or higher
Preferred Experience:
- Prior plant pathology experience and aseptic technique is a plus.
- Knowledge around growing crop species in controlled environments is a plus.
- Statistical analysis experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent communication, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Manage time and effectively prioritize and implement projects and general work tasks.
- Give and receive feedback, work collaboratively, exhibit effective social and interpersonal skills.
- Resourceful and innovative in finding solutions to problems.
- Flexible and can adapt to changing business surroundings.
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards when handling crop protection products in lab settings.
