Salary: $51,000-$64,000 Annually
Summary:
The Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring raw materials are properly received, stored, and loaded for production. This position is also responsible for performing routine maintenance on plant equipment and ensuring that the yard area is properly maintained and organized.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs daily routine checks of compressors and “bag” houses to ensure equipment is operating correctlyPrepares equipment for plant start-up each morningObserves incoming raw materials to ensure required specifications are metOperates a front-end loader to unload raw materials and place in proper storage binsRetrieves appropriate material with front-end loader according to specifications given by the batch operator and loads material in proper bin for processingConducts physical inventory of raw materials as neededPerforms routine maintenance on front-end loader, compressors, “bag” houses, pumps and valves and reclaimerPerforms routine inspection of material silos to ensure cleanliness and prevent material cloggingPerforms general housekeeping tasks in and around the plant building and yard as needed including tasks such as sweeping, mopping, emptying trash and cutting grassMaintains the overall orderly organization of equipment and supplies in and around the yard and plantChecks and maintains dust systemMaintains cleanliness and appearance of concrete re-claimer pondOperates a forklift as needed to unload freight and materials deliveredOther duties as directed by the plant managerEmployee Relations:

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge on safe operation of a forklift, manlift, and front-end loaderCDL “B” or higher preferred, but not requiredExperience:
Specific Industry related experience preferredExperience with general or routine maintenance tasksSkills/Abilities:
Ability to operate a forklift, manlift, and front-end loaderDemonstrated ability to follow instruction and work independentlyDemonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to read, write and distinguish colorsWorking Conditions:
