Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Operate thermal plant controls and equipment safely and efficiently compliant with all local, state, and federal permit requirements.
- Continuously monitor facility operations and make adjustments as required to achieve optimal performance specifications.
- Perform and document daily operations, safety, and equipment condition checks. Inspect the condition of the machinery/facility components, and communicate items in need of repair or service to the maintenance staff.
- Assist maintenance staff with necessary repairs, as needed.
- Work independently safely and efficiently and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment, including cleaning equipment as scheduled or necessary.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
This position has regularly assigned third-shift work hours, however, this role requires the ability to work variable hours that may include overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience performing equipment troubleshooting/repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or combustion systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating and monitoring computerized plant processing equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
- Ability to constantly monitor complex digitalized data on a computer screen for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must be dependable, conscientious, detail-oriented, and have a safety-first attitude.
- Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers.
- Experience using basic hand tools and/or power tools to assist with completing repairs.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion systems.
- Knowledge of equipment inspection, preventative maintenance, and cleaning standards.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and regulatory permits.
- Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, etc.
- Trade School graduates are encouraged to apply.
