Position Overview
The Install Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant for manufacturing and supporting operations to ensure policies and procedures are followed. The Install Plant Manager will develop processes that improve operational performance regarding customer expectations and employee experiences including safety, quality, morale, delivery, and cost.
Essential Functions
- Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day site installation and support operations to the achievement of customer and organizational expectations.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement methodologies/ measurements to positively affect operational excellence regarding waste elimination, quality improvement, productivity enhancement, and employee satisfaction for site operations.
- Create and execute plans to reduce non-value added costs, increase revenues, and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates.
- Implement initiatives in alignment with strategic objectives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Monitor operational performance and implement root cause/ corrective action processes utilizing appropriate tools.
- Demonstrate unquestionable business and personal ethics and conduct.
- Establish and share a trusting relationship with team members and recruit, lead and coach plant staff.
- Remain current with latest production management best practices and concepts.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for employees, ensuring compliance with corporate health, safety and environmental directives.
- Support new product development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Five years' experience as an Operations/Production Manager or three years' experience as a Plant Manager.
- Lean/ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
- Proven experience with business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Five years' experience with various aspects of production operations including: safety, quality, productivity, resource allocation, inventory and stewardship processes.
- Computer literacy including MS Office and ERP Systems (JD Edwards preferred).
- Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- BS degree in Engineering, Management, or Business or equivalent job experience.
