What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, our Plant Managers play a critical role as servant/leaders at Divert facilities. A great Plant Leader has a safety mindset and demonstrates characteristics and behaviors that inspire their team to ensure a Safety First workplace. The most effective Plant Leaders are strong communicators who set clear expectations and hold their teams accountable to meet their goals while working alongside them to achieve optimal results. Our Plant Leaders work diligently to educate and integrate Lean Principles (5S) at their site(s). In this role, the Plant Leader takes full responsibility for all functions at our industrial food waste processing facility based on-site in Plymouth, IN. This includes maintaining a productive culture based on respect, managing accountability to standard work processes, working with transparency and effective communication within the facility and reporting out to Company leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of plant operations to ensure a safe working environment and everyone working in your facility is properly trained in all aspects of safety compliance (supported by EH&S Team)
- Directly manage, hire and train Operators and Maintenance personnel, holding all individuals accountable to their individual goals, and drive the entire team's success.
- Oversee maintenance and reliability of machinery to ensure operational efficiencies and uptime with support from our Continuous Improvement and Maintenance leadership.
- Develop, implement and report against financial and non-financial objectives, including annual budget, financial forecasts, operational goals, key performance indicators and operating plans.
- Inspect all phases (mechanical, chemical, electrical) of plant operations and initiate remedial actions.
- Lead by example, demonstrate a willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves, write SOP's, etc.
- Work closely with the in-house Engineering team to drive continuous improvement and reliability to ensure plant goals are met.
- Monitor compliance with Company policies, Customer Agreements, quality specifications, sanitation practices, regulatory requirements, third party contracts and safety standards.
- Must maintain the ability to:
- Effectively communicate all significant actions and problems to Company management on a frequent basis;
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years in an operations management role with hiring and people management
- 5+ years in continuous (24/7) industrial processing operations
- Proven track record of leading production/processing systems
- Possess the ability to work with ambiguity by asking thoughtful questions, make balanced assessments and smart decisions
- Enjoys “getting their hands dirty” by digging into complex operations
- A clear communicator with professional presence
- Has strong listening skills; open to input from other team members and departments
- Has the ability to lead through influence
