Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all daily operations of the plant, including production, planning, inventory management, production control, shipping, and cross-functional and customer communication. Acting as the site leader, you will ensure company policies and procedures are followed while driving improvements in safety, quality, cost, and customer delivery. This role requires a hands-on leadership style, an ability to build trust with a tenured workforce, and strong operational leadership skills. We’re seeking an experienced leader who can elevate operations to the next level. This is an opportunity to lead a well-established team, and drive operational excellence
Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
- Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations to exceed internal and customer expectations.
- Drive production efficiencies, increase asset utilization, and enhance flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure production output, product quality, and on-time shipping meet or exceed goals.
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop systems and processes to track and optimize productivity, metrics, and performance targets.
- Recruit, manage, and develop plant staff to drive performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze data to identify waste, inefficiencies, or overtime, and implement projects to reduce waste and drive process improvement.
- Lead initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and customer delivery standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience engaging and leading with a hands-on, approachable leadership style.
- Operational Expertise: Strong background in operations management, production planning, and process optimization.
- Effective Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust and alignment across all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, or related field, alternatively, 7-10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 10-15 years in manufacturing, preferred leadership roles.
- Previous people management responsibilities.
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
- Computer literacy with strength in Microsoft excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
Preferred:
- Experience in metal fabrication
- Experience in metal buildings, welding, and/or roll forming operations
- Bilingual (Spanish)
