This position maintains, repairs, and operates various systems utilized by the facility to support the activities necessary to supply the needs of external and internal customers.  These systems will include wastewater treatment, plumbing (water and air systems), lighting, facility, and grounds. The PLANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN also constructs or modifies various areas both inside the facility and outside the facility as needed. In performing these duties they will be responsible for requisitioning and managing required supplies as well as communicating with outside contractors and vendors.

• Operate, maintain, and repair the Waste Water Treatment System and the Industrial Water System.  Coordinate the removal of spent oils and other liquids from the property in accordance with Company and environmental & municipality requirements.
• Perform emergency/unscheduled/scheduled maintenance and repairs on Plant infrastructure as needed or requested.  This includes, but is not limited to, restroom fixtures, plumbing, lighting fixtures, doors, gutters, painting, dust removal, grounds improvements and some janitorial. 
• Perform clearing activities during inclement weather to ensure major entrances/exits are accessible.   
• Perform modifications or construction for improvements in various areas inside the Plant as well as on the grounds of the Plant as needed.  These constructions or modifications include, but are not limited to, plumbing of water systems, plumbing of air delivery systems, wall construction, equipment relocation, and office cubical relocation.
• Perform highly diversified duties including: mechanical repair of Plant infrastructure, Plant and production equipment.
• Clean and maintain the mop pit room.  Clean and dispose of 55 gallon drums and totes.  Operate the floor sweepers and scrubbers as needed.  
• Coordinate and assist with set-up and removal of tables, chairs, tents and equipment for meetings, company functions and with moving of office furniture and equipment.
• Perform other duties as instructed by the Facilities manager.

• 2 years experience in use of various power tools.
• Ability to become forklift and scissors-lift certified.
• Ability to learn to operate the wastewater treatment systems (training will be provided).
• Must have good communication and writing skills.

Additonal Preferred Skills 

• Post-secondary education and/or technical certificate in Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Mechanical discipline.
• Some basic carpentry experience.
