Our Easton Electrical Team is offering a Plant Maintenance Electrician Apprentice to learn on-the-job under the supervision of a journeyman electrician at our Easton, NY Plant. The apprenticeship will follow the NYS Plant Maintenance -Electrician/Mechanic program. This program will teach you how to assess and repair electrical problems on commercial or residential job sites. As a Plant Maintenance Electrician Apprentice, you will complete both hands-on projects and must be able to apply and complete course work at a State approved college. To start, your duties will include basic cleaning and maintenance tasks and progress to more skill-based tasks as you gain experience and hours in the program. Completes training in the apprenticeship program at the pace and knowledge level prescribed in the Apprentice and Training Standard.Essential Functions and Responsibilities•Follow all guidelines as outlined in the Plant Maintenance (Electrician) https://dol.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2022/06/plant-maintenance-electrician-time.pdf•Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions.•Prepare and clean work areas.•Carry and deliver materials.•Install, repair, and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment.•Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform conduit work.•Follow safety codes and building regulations.Qualifications •High school diploma or GED certificate must have a high school education with demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and perform mathematical calculations.•Ability to attend a state approved college or university as the apprentice program states.•Must be accepted by the Apprentice Program and follow all guidelines.•Prior Manufacturing Experience, preferably in Paper Industry.•Able to diagnose problems using electronic test equipment.•Knowledge of NEC electrical codes•Eagerness to learn electrical schematics and blueprint reading skills.•Must past aptitude test?•Desire to be in program for 4+ years Rate is $26.22/HRInterested candidates please send resume to katherine.carpenter@hovo.comHollingsworth & Vose is an equal opportunity employer.
