Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support HR policies and programs, focusing on key areas like employee relations, compensation, training, health and safety, and benefits. This role is integral in fostering a compliant, positive, and dynamic workplace culture and plays a central role in recruiting, developing, and retaining talent.
Primary Responsibilities:
Policy Compliance & Employee Relations
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with legal requirements and support fair, consistent application.
- Conduct investigations to maintain a respectful and compliant workplace.
- Mitigate legal risks and uphold positive employee relations.
Workplace Culture & Inclusivity
- Build strong relationships with employees and management to promote a productive, inclusive work environment.
- Support and lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Serve as a visible, approachable resource on-site for employees.
Data Analysis & Strategic Insights
- Analyze HR data, generate reports, and provide insights on staffing, turnover, and employee engagement.
- Use data to shape HR initiatives that align with business objectives and drive results.
Talent Management & Development
- Lead recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
- Oversee workforce planning, succession, and talent development to support growth and future leadership.
- Provide resources for skill development and career progression.
Change Leadership & Business Strategy
- Lead change initiatives to support company-wide objectives and foster smooth transitions.
- Collaborate with management to align HR practices with business strategies and goals.
HR Compliance & Program Expertise
- Oversee HR compliance audits and maintain knowledge of key programs such as FMLA, ADA, and employee benefits.
- Provide guidance on HR programs and continuously improve practices to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience, with 2+ years in leadership.
- 2+ years of experience in a union environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
