POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Director is responsible for the overall management of the manufacturing factory operation in multi-plant facilities in City of Industry, CA, including the ongoing development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan. This position will need to collaboratively work with other management functions, including Sales & Marketing, Finance, HR, Sales & Operation, Procurement, Innovation & Quality, and Warehouse & Logistics, to ensure all key deliverables are met. The Plant Director is accountable for the P&L of the manufacturing plants, product innovation, food safety & quality, and employee health and safety.

- Maintain and develop a platform or culture of a result-oriented, quality and safety-focused, customer-driven, teamwork-oriented manufacturing facility with modern management systems.
- Lead the manufacturing team to provide sufficient, consistent, quality products on time to support the double-digit sales growth year over year, achieve the best order fulfillment rate and on-time delivery rate.
- Build a best-in-class manufacturing system, optimize capacity utilization and production flexibility to enable the best cost, services, and quality, and continuously enhance the company’s competitive advantage through product innovation and continuous improvement in lean manufacturing.
- Build and manage a highly motivated, engaged, and skilled high-performing manufacturing team with over several hundred members in multiple locations in a multi-cultural environment.
- Lead the employee safety and health initiatives, build a sound EHS system, ensure safe and healthy work environment for all associates.
- Establish and implement the food safety and quality system and control procedures to ensure consistent product quality. In terms of food safety and quality, a “zero tolerance” policy is supported with all employees and in all areas of the plants.
- Continue focusing on cost reduction, productivity improvement, increasing efficiency, and process system optimization to improve profit margins.
- Lead the engineering and maintenance team, create engineering and maintenance strategy, and implement the preventive maintenance approach to ensure best-in-class engineering support to the plants and facilities.
- Work with the manufacturing, engineering, and materials management teams to maximize manufacturing capacity and flexibility to meet customer demands.
- Seamless interaction and coordination with procurement and quality team to achieve the corporate strategic goal and long/ short term objectives.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor the annual manufacturing budget of CA plants to support the Company objectives.
- Partner with the HR function to develop and implement an integrated talent management system to build, lead, and develop a factory team that complies with local labor regulations and policies.
- Represent the manufacturing plants and their interests in dealing with government agents, industry associations, and key trade players.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to this role are Production Managers, Engineering Manager, Operation Excellence Manager, and EHS Manager. This position must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; career planning for the team and addressing complaints and resolving problems and etc.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, and EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years experience managing a production facility; food manufacturing management experience is highly preferred.
- Training or certification in Lean Manufacturing; 6 Sigma or other relevant training is required. ISO management system training is high preferred.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Bilingual (English and Cantonese/Mandarin or English and Spanish) skill is highly desirable for the position.
- Communicate and present in writing and verbally clearly, accurately, and with impact.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
