Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative financial business partner to join our team as a Plant Controller for our Sterling factory.
The Plant Controller contributes to the company's success by (1) Integrating financial intelligence into the daily operational execution of the plant through business partnership, performance measurement, and variance analysis, (2) Leading plant productivity initiative identification and tracking via cost deployment in alignment with the Company's operating system and (3) Creating and maintaining annual operating plans, forecasts, and department budgets that ensure accountability and drive performance results. This role has two professional direct reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop a strategic partnership with the Operations Director for the Sterling plant.
- Lead development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for the Sterling plant including annual capital budgets.
- Execute month end processes in collaboration with NA Finance Director ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Review and enhance controls and processes that ensure effective inventory management and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain cost deployment as part of the Wahl Operating System to identify and track cost productivity improvements.
- Collaborate with plant leadership and material planning organization to manage capacity planning through the SIOP process.
- Drive financial intelligence through the education of the plant leadership team helping to enhance understanding of financial impacts of decisions.
- Lead and mentor the Sterling finance team to develop a high performing function that creates value for the company.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years in finance, FP&A, or accounting within a manufacturing environment, Plant Controller experience required, and at least 5 years as an effective people manager with a focus on talent development.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Microsoft Dynamics, SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Driven by continual learning and a desire to have an impact on the long-term success of the organization.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across the organization, founded on credibility and mutual respect.
- Ability to develop and motivate a high performing finance team.
- Strong analytical skills based on relevant data and critical thinking.
