We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Controller to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for all financial aspects of our manufacturing operations, providing critical financial support to the plant management, and acting as a key member of the plant management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting and financial analysis, with a keen understanding of manufacturing processes and financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in the preparation and control of plant budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to accurately report on manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L analysis.
- Collaborate with plant management to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in the planning and execution of physical inventory counts, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including GAAP.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Provide financial training and guidance to plant management and staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a plant controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis.
- Proficient in budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience with MRP systems.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting and inventory management.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with and influence all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations and standards.
