The Manufacturing Plant Controller is a proactive business partner; providing day to day leadership and management of financial activities related to our manufacturing and warehousing operations, including key control functions related to inventory and fixed assets, working with the site leadership team, and all departments and levels of employees to drive company growth and initiatives.
Duties Include:
- Manage and supervise the cost accounting functions for our growing, global flooring business.
- Provide analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to Bentley management and other stakeholders.
- Provide meaningful insight to control costs of all manufacturing, material and labor expenses, including detailed variance analysis and conducting performance management reviews with site leadership.
- Active participation and drive input in the overall planning process for cost related inputs.
- Determine pricing for custom products and work with leadership to develop and maintain an approved price list of standard products that achieves agreed profit targets.
- Prepare reconciliations and analysis of balance sheets and direct cost and other manufacturing related accounts, along with variance analysis, and other financial reports.
- Provide oversight of cycle counting program and physical inventory processes, including inventory held at supplier locations, and insure controls are functioning in accordance with company policies.
- Be the primary point of contact for all audit related inquiries on manufacturing cost, fixed asset and inventory related accounts.
- Responsibilities also include:
- budgeting and forecasting
- financial month-end close process
- monthly results commentary
- creating and preparing financial analysis
- product costing analysis
- track, manage and control capital expenditure projects
- excess and obsolete inventory review
- ad hoc reporting
- assisting departments and finance team members
- Special projects as assigned by the corporate team and CFO
Candidates will preferably have:
- Bachelor’s degree (accounting major) with major coursework in business, finance and accounting
- At least 5 years accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company.
- Must be detailed oriented and highly computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, demonstrate Advanced Excel skills, have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and analytical skills.
- Requires deadline driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as key contributor on teams.
- Previous experience with AS400 based systems and NetSuite or other cloud-based ERP systems experience a plus.
- The individual will be expected to have a high level of expertise in standard concepts, practices, and procedures of a standard cost systems within discrete manufacturing operations and demonstrate a working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS accounting and other finance concepts (ie: working capital ratios, net present value, payback, break even analysis).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as a team, are a must, as well as willingness to accept task ownership of assigned responsibilities in a fast-growing environment.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to multi-task with moderate supervision.
This position reports to the CFO of Bentley Mills, Inc.
The Plant Controller will be responsible for managing their expenses, complying with safety rules, environmental regulations and all other Company Policies and Procedures.
Starting pay range: $120k-150k
