Position Overview:
As a Plant Controller for the manufacturing facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and success of our operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and analysis for the plant, providing strategic guidance to optimize performance and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the plant, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate financial plans aligned with business objectives.
2. Cost Accounting: Establish and maintain robust cost accounting systems to accurately track production costs, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
3. Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards, to provide insights into plant performance and support decision-making.
4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting processes, ensuring proper valuation, accuracy, and control of inventory levels to minimize carrying costs and mitigate risks.
5. Internal Controls: Develop and enforce effective internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and mitigate financial risks.
6. Capital Investment Analysis: Evaluate capital investment proposals, providing financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making on investments in equipment, technology, and infrastructure.
7. Cost Reduction Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
8. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting principles, and company policies, coordinating with internal and external auditors as necessary.
9. Business Partnership: Serve as a strategic partner to plant management, providing financial expertise, insights, and recommendations to drive operational excellence and achieve business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and achieving financial targets.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
