About the Job
Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing sector, is seeking a Plant Controller to join their team in Black Mountain, NC . This role is pivotal in providing strategic financial leadership and support to the Plant Manager, ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the plant. As the financial steward of the plant, you will be instrumental in driving financial performance, ensuring accuracy in financial statements, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement and strategic financial planning. This is a unique opportunity to function as a key strategic partner within the organization, offering the right candidate a chance to influence the direction and success of the plant's operations.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager, offering robust financial leadership and guidance.
- Drive financial performance to meet or exceed established plans, continuously monitoring variances and initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Lead efforts to improve profitability and asset turnover, including conducting make vs. buy analyses, enhancing reporting processes, and implementing countermeasures for margin leakage.
- Provide timely, relevant management reports and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, emphasizing continuous improvement and excellence in financial processes.
- Oversee the annual planning and budgeting process, ensuring the development of realistic plans with supporting action plans.
- Maintain complete, accurate accounting records and financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Coordinate and prepare accurate forecasts, conducting in-depth analyses to identify and act on corrective measures.
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and procedures to prevent deficiencies or material weaknesses.
- Manage the plant's portion of the annual audit process with external auditors.
- Develop accurate standard costs annually, providing a clear understanding of all cost components for informed decision-making.
- Proactively manage working capital to surpass cash flow targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 10 years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing setting
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
