Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Plant Controller to join our team in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting and cost analysis, with a focus on building skills to grow within our organization. This role is instrumental in supporting financial processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving financial insights that contribute to operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Perform cost accounting activities, including analyzing manufacturing costs, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Contribute to financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting to drive informed decision-making.
- Support the implementation and adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
- Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is required.
- Exposure to organizations with revenue between $100M and $500M in sales is highly preferred.
- Background as an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or Financial Analyst is ideal.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Foundational understanding of cost accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience assisting in the preparation of financial reporting packages and budgets.
- Proficient in communicating financial data and collaborating across departments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or CMA designation is a plus but not mandatory.
