Plant Accountant - Executive Placement Network

Position: Plant Accountant

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 per year, with full benefits

Position Summary:
A manufacturing facility in Durant, OK, is urgently seeking a Plant Accountant to manage and maintain cost accounting systems and support accounting functions for the plant. This role will focus on product costing, financial reporting, and operational performance analysis. Ideal candidates should have strong cost accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to work in a rural setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze operational costs, prepare and maintain product costings, and set standards for costing and pricing.
• Performance Tracking: Track and analyze key performance indicators to evaluate strategies and operational effectiveness.
• Inventory & Financial Control: Assist with inventory management, conduct physical inventories, and oversee cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements; support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Audit & Compliance: Prepare necessary documentation for annual audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Management Support: Provide management reports to analyze manufacturing costs and variances, and support decision-making through financial analysis.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cost or managerial accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles; proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Certifications: CMA or CPA is a plus but not required.
• Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with attention to detail and adherence to GAAP.
