TYLin has a position available for a Plans Examiner related to Regulatory Compliance in Rochester, NY. In this role the person would primarily be responsible for tasks involving the review of construction documents to verify compliance with applicable state and federal design regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review of design calculations and reports prepared by others.
- Reviews project drawings for compliance with applicable codes and department standards.
- Preparation of code compliance reports.
- Coordinates activities with other disciplines.
- Provides guidance and technical consultation.
- Performing field inspections and site visits.
- Maintains project schedules and budgets
- Bachelors degree in Architecture or a building related Engineering field and 2+ years of relevant experience is desired or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency using the following on a daily basis: Microsoft Word, Excel, BlueBeam, Adobe Pro and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and/or the ICC International Family of Codes is desired.
- Must be willing to acquire the necessary training and pass the NYS Exam to achieve certification as a Code Enforcement Official within 18 months of being hired.
- Must have excellent technical and communication skills.
