SUMMARY
ยท To have a passion for the craft of BBQ and a desire to maintain the highest food quality according to all Sonny's and ACGBBQ standards. To take ownership of the food and food quality from your location's PIT.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make sure all food is prepared and cooked to quality standards.
- No Short Cuts
- Hit the BULLSEYE
- Monitor and set accurate pars for consistent and controlled truck ordering.
- Receive all incoming products, check quality and quantity, and store in its proper place.
- Communicate with coworkers to ensure proper inventory for events and caterings.
- Make sure all cooked and uncooked products are rotated correctly.
- Able to execute Tier 2 Caterings.[BL1]
- Keep the kitchen area clean at all times.
- Adhere to sanitary and food preparation guidelines.
- Understand the food cost of each item and how to troubleshoot when issues arise; able to manage Actual vs. Theoretical costs.
- Able to train the BOH team on proper cooking and reheating standards for the best quality product.
- Communicate with management any challenges that might occur to properly execute standards.
- Be a Brand Ambassador- Table touch with guests to get feedback and share passion for BBQ.
- Perform any other work-related duties specified by management.
- Present a professional appearance and proper language when addressing others.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Can be calm under pressure.
- Effective time management skills. Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Able to work with and troubleshoot smokers and hot boxes.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work with sharp knives.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Attend and successfully complete ongoing training or certification programs required by the company, federally, or by the state as it relates to this position.

- Cooks are regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to handle food products and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and guests, including speaking and listening.
- The position requires continuously walking, standing, bending, lifting, reaching, crouching, touching, feeling, tasting, talking, hearing, wiping, and smelling.
- Sonny's is a fast-paced environment and requires constant human interaction and movement.
- Cooks must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
- While performing the duties of the job, team members regularly work with or near moving mechanical parts.
- Team Members may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and are required to work with cleaning chemicals. Frequent washing of the hands is required.
- As a BOH Team Member, you must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job for up to an 8-hour shift.
