Selectek is partnering with a firm near Atlanta, Georgia to hire a highly-qualified Piping Designer on a six-month temp-to-perm basis. Candidates will be focused on piping and mechanical layout design for a company that specializes in civil and industrial projects. Client is moving quickly to interview candidates with their desired skills and characteristics!
Expected Pay Range: $36-$44 per hour before conversion
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Job Duties:
- Develop and design piping systems to include steam, boiler feed, condensate, cooling water and instrument air
- Generate plans for complex piping systems that are fundamentally sound and esthetically pleasing
- Review and interpret systems in PFD and P&ID drawings
- Incorporate findings of piping stress analysis reports into designs
- Check designs for compliance with ASME piping codes
- Assist senior staff in reviewing vendor and other contract-related documents
- Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced design staff
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of ten years of experience in piping design
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software; AutoCAD Plant 3D is most frequently used
- Experience working on industrial projects
- Knowledge of ASME Section B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes
- Ideal candidates have knowledge of steam and/or power generation, gas turbines and combined cycle plants, or construction
